This week so far has still been devoted to resting. My hemoglobin has dropped again (not low enough to warrant a transfusion, though, thank heavens!), and I’ve been having problems breathing if I exert myself to any degree, such as going out to the car, or walking to the scooters at the store, you know. Normal life things that most people can do without thinking about it.
However, I have been reading in V.E. Schwab’s A GATHERING OF SHADOWS, and have so far been enjoying it quite a bit! I’m taking my time with this one. After all, I’m three weeks ahead for reading 50 books in a year, plus 2 weeks off for good behavior, so five weeks. I know I won’t take all of March to read this book! But I might take a week or ten days, I dunno.
I haven’t been making my bed recently, but then, I’m adjusting that goal to simply “be kind to myself”. This recovery from crippling anemia is still going to take some time yet. I spoke with my doctor today about getting home oxygen, and he had me walk up and down the hallway with an oxymeter on my finger. It was about 60 feet, both ways combined, and my blood oxygen dropped to below 90% before I was done, so he’s going to be working with my insurance to get my oxygen for occasional use. Hopefully, it’ll be a portable bottle thing, so I can go out and walk again. There aren’t many pretty places to walk, but fresh air and sunlight can still lift the mood, even if there aren’t lovely vistas to view along the way, right?
As for writing goals, I’m doing well to post on my blog, right now. Still no resources. Taking my laundry through the house between my room and the laundry room is exhausting; I need a nap after putting in a load!
In better news, though, we have FINALLY gotten rid of the blinding sun glare in my room! WOOHOO! Now I can see my computer screen! YAY!
